Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.20% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 3.62% or 3.66 points to trade at 104.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 2.18% or 1.58 points to end at 74.04 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 1.65% or 0.17 points to 10.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 3.03% or 3.00 points to trade at 95.86 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 2.93% or 1.12 points to end at 37.09 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 2.37% or 3.60 points to 148.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which rose 5.23% to 21.34, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which was up 3.62% to settle at 104.86 and Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which gained 2.98% to close at 51.90.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 12.05% to 7.90 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 8.44% to settle at 1.77 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 7.27% to 0.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 302 to 186 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.62% or 3.66 to 104.86. Shares in Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) fell to all time lows; losing 12.05% or 1.08 to 7.90. Shares in Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.62% or 3.66 to 104.86. Shares in Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.98% or 1.50 to 51.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 6.25 to $2,533.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.95% or 0.70 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.55 to trade at $77.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 101.61.
