Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.69%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumption and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.69%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 4.87% or 0.29 points to trade at 6.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 1.69% or 0.11 points to end at 6.61 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) was up 1.67% or 0.52 points to 31.63 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which fell 8.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 7.47 at the close. Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) declined 3.87% or 0.19 points to end at 4.72 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) was down 3.76% or 0.05 points to 1.28.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 535 to 422 and 59 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) fell to all time lows; down 8.00% or 0.65 to 7.47.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.62% to 27.30.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 13.70 to $2,654.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.08% or 2.90 to trade at $272.05 .

USD/BRL was up 0.25% to 5.45, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.06% to 6.07.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 100.50.
