Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.08%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.08% to hit a new 6-months low.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which rose 2.14% or 2.57 points to trade at 122.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) added 1.88% or 2.62 points to end at 141.95 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) was up 1.61% or 0.78 points to 49.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which fell 4.51% or 1.98 points to trade at 41.92 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) declined 3.09% or 1.39 points to end at 43.54 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was down 2.85% or 4.77 points to 162.84.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 134 to 84 and 17 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 3.25 to $2,746.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.20 to trade at $72.65 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 1.39% to 20.29, while EUR/MXN rose 0.76% to 21.98.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.24.
