Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.03%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.03%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3), which rose 8.82% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.48 at the close. Meanwhile, YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) added 5.87% or 0.60 points to end at 10.83 and Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3) was up 4.71% or 0.83 points to 18.46 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3), which fell 3.91% or 0.46 points to trade at 11.29 at the close. Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) declined 3.27% or 1.98 points to end at 58.65 and Totvs SA (BVMF:TOTS3) was down 2.79% or 0.86 points to 30.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 506 to 482 and 56 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 7.18% to 31.67.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.55% or 68.85 to $2,625.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.18% or 2.24 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.15% or 2.90 to trade at $256.00 .

USD/BRL was unchanged 0.00% to 5.76, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.00% to 6.13.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 105.40.
