Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.40%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.40% to hit a new 6-months high.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which rose 5.12% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT:PREFr) added 4.21% or 0.24 points to end at 5.94 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 3.60% or 0.26 points to 7.48 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which fell 3.29% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.35 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 1.80% or 0.01 points to end at 0.35 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was down 1.50% or 0.09 points to 5.90.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.40% or 10.59 to $2,658.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.93% or 0.68 to hit $73.81 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.45 to trade at $76.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 108.93.
