Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.81%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.81%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 5.26% or 1.02 points to trade at 20.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) added 4.53% or 2.07 points to end at 47.73 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 4.01% or 4.77 points to 123.58 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which fell 2.56% or 0.59 points to trade at 22.50 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 1.63% or 0.19 points to end at 11.44 and Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) was down 0.37% or 0.54 points to 145.14.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 141 to 72 and 18 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.85 to $2,673.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.00% or 0.74 to hit $74.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.43 to trade at $78.05 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.28% to 19.29, while EUR/MXN fell 0.91% to 21.16.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 102.24.
