Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 0.62%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 1.83% or 0.49 points to trade at 27.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) added 1.51% or 0.23 points to end at 15.43 and America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) was up 1.49% or 0.23 points to 15.63 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which fell 7.06% or 0.68 points to trade at 8.95 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 2.93% or 0.35 points to end at 11.58 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was down 2.89% or 0.76 points to 25.54.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 151 to 91 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.44% or 65.70 to $2,629.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.13% or 2.20 to hit $68.18 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.60% or 1.92 to trade at $71.95 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.82% to 20.34, while EUR/MXN rose 0.32% to 21.66.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 105.41.
