U.K. stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 1.25%

Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mobile Telecommunications, Automobiles & Parts and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 1.25% to hit a new 3-months low.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were ConvaTec Group PLC (LON:CTEC), which rose 22.07% or 47.80 points to trade at 264.40 at the close. Meanwhile, DCC plc (LON:DCC) added 14.18% or 704.00 points to end at 5,670.00 and Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) was up 2.64% or 15.60 points to 607.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD), which fell 8.19% or 5.98 points to trade at 67.02 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 7.84% or 53.00 points to end at 623.00 and Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV) was down 5.56% or 42.00 points to 713.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1359 to 473 and 630 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.56% or 42.00 to 713.50.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 17.80 to $2,599.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.06 a barrel.

GBP/USD was down 1.10% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 106.06.
